How visitor parking permits work
Visitor permits are electronic, and nothing needs to be displayed on the visitor’s vehicle.
There are two different permits you can apply for.
Short stay visitor permits
Short stay visitor permits are available in 15 minute blocks.
They can be extended before the final 15 minute period starts. This can be done for up to a maximum of 4 hours.
All day visitor permits
All day visitor permits are for visits over 4 hours.
You can use an all-day permit to park until the end of the controlled hours on that day, for that parking bay.
They are not available in all Controlled Parking Zones.
Discounts for short stay visitor permits
You can get a discount on a short stay visitor permit if you:
are 75 and over
have a disability
To get a discount, select the older or disabled option when registering for your parking account. If you already have an account, you can update your details.
You will need to provide evidence of your age or disability.
How much visitor parking permits cost
The price of your visitor parking permit will depend on which controlled parking zone you live in, and the type of vehicle.
