Running a refreshment stall in Kilburn Grange Park
We would like to host an organisation or individual with the experience to provide a mobile café or stall from a pitch in Kilburn Grange Park. As well as interest from the private sector, we would also be interested in receiving applications from social enterprises and community organisations.
About us
Camden’s Leisure Service combines sport, physical activity, and green space management to deliver green and active spaces across the borough, enhancing the health and well-being of Camden’s diverse communities. We are responsible for 70+ open spaces including allotments, London Squares, local nature reserves and parks.
Kilburn Grange Park is a 3.4-hectare public open space situated in Kilburn between Kilburn High Road, Messina Avenue and Kingsgate Road. The site has several facilities including tennis courts, a multi-use games area (MUGA), outdoor gym, children’s playground and paddling pool, adventure playground, dog walking area, community food growing area, rose garden and amenity grassland. There is a funfair and community festival in summer and Light up Kilburn festival during the winter.
About the pitch
The successful applicant will be awarded a licence for the provision of a mobile catering concession/cafe for one year. The location for the pitch is shown on appendix 1. Licensees will be able to trade in the park when it is open which is generally 365 days a year from 8am to dusk. Licensees’ units are not permitted to remain on the pitch overnight but storage for some materials can be arranged.
Applicants are advised to read the draft licence (Appendix 2) before applying to understand any constraints. For example, licensees are not permitted to play chimes, music, run engines, use diesel or petrol generators, or sell alcohol. The pitches have access to an outside tap for water (not for consumption) but only one has access to electricity. Neither have access to drainage. The pitch is 4 metres by 3 metres in size.
