Managing your gas, electricity and water

Understand what to do in an emergency, how to access meters in locked areas and how to reduce your energy bills. 

Gas supply 

Your gas supply comes from our network or from a supplier of your choice.  

As a tenant you should know:   

  • what to do if there’s a gas leak   
  • how to get appliances installed and serviced safely

Metered heating and electricity  

Heat meters 

If you’re on the Camden’s district heating network, you may have a heat meter. This measures the energy used to heat your home and, in some cases, hot water. Find out more about bills and charges.  

Gas meters 

If you’re on Camden’s bulk gas network, you may have a gas meter. This measures the gas usage for heating your home, hot water and cooking gas. Find out more about bills and charges. 

Access electricity meters in locked areas 

Electricity meters are owned by energy providers and may be in locked cupboards in communal areas.
