Schedule 2 applications

From 31 October 2026, the National Scheme of Delegation introduced by the Government sets out which planning applications must be determined by planning officers and which may be referred to planning committee.

Some larger, more complex or strategic planning applications are categorised as Schedule 2 applications. These planning applications may be referred to Planning Committee if they meet one of the national Gateway Test criteria. [link to criteria on deciding outcome page]

Every Thursday we publish a list of all Schedule 2 applications to be considered through the Gateway Test process, on Tuesday we publish the outcome of that consideration.
