Report a fire or structural safety issue in a high-rise building

The Building Safety Act 2022 requires us to record and report safety occurrences in high-rise buildings to the Building Safety Regulator.

Safety occurrences are incidents or risks involving:

  • structural failure of the building
  • fire safety in the design and construction phase
  • the spread of fire or smoke in an occupied building

Anyone can report a safety occurrence. You don’t need to live in the building or be a Camden resident.

If there is an immediate safety risk, you must call 999.

If something is damaged or not working properly, you can report a repair.

What should be reported

Report anything that could cause fire, smoke, or structural damage in a high-rise building. This includes:

  • fire or anything that could cause a fire to spread
  • a full or partial building collapse
  • faulty or poor-quality building work
  • structural defects
  • fire safety failures — like broken fire doors, smoke detectors or vents that don’t open automatically

If you live in a high-rise building and are unsure about how to report an issue, speak to your Building Safety Manager. Contact them by:

If you phone, leave a message with your name, building and number. Your Building Safety Manager will call you back.

How to report a suspected safety occurrence

Use the form to report a suspected safety occurrence. Add as much detail as you can to help us understand the issue.

You can also report a suspected safety occurrence to your Building Safety Manager by phone or email.

All reports are confidential and follow data protection rules. If a safety occurrence has been reported, we’ll only tell residents that a report was made, not who made it.
