Repairing or improving your home

If something is damaged or not working in your home or communal area, you can report it online. If a repair is your responsibility, watch our repair videos to help you fix it.

Damp and mould 

Mould is a type of fungus that grows in damp places. It’s usually caused by condensation, but can also be caused by leaks.     
Black mould in your home can affect your health. It’s important to report signs of mould as soon as you can. Find out more about:

Improving or altering your home 

As a secure tenant, we want you to make your home your own.   

You can decorate and lay carpets in your home without our permission. View tenant responsibility for maintenance and repairs

If you want to make changes to the structure of your home or fixtures and fittings, you must: 

  • ask for permission in writing from your Neighbourhood Housing Officer team
  • get any necessary planning permission

When things do not go to plan

Claim a heating rebate 

If you’ve been without communal heating, hot water or gas for more than 3 days, you may be able to claim a heating rebate or compensation.   

Claim compensation for a broken lift 

If your lift was not working and you use it to get to and from your home, you may be able to claim compensation for a broken lift
