Property Asset Management: structure and responsibilities

The Property Asset Management team plans long-term investment across Camden’s council homes and schools and manages information about our housing and schools assets. The service is responsible for making sure homes are safe, warm, well-maintained and meet legal standards. The service also includes Capital Works, which delivers planned investment programmes. 

We provide a range of services including: 

  • asset management strategy and investment planning 
  • asset review programmes 
  • planned housing investment and improvement works  
  • retrofit, energy efficiency and decarbonisation programmes 
  • property data, systems and compliance reporting 
  • procurement and commercial management 
  • surveying, engineering and cost management support 

What we do 

Property Data, Programmes and Systems  

Our work includes: 

  • planning long-term investment to make sure homes are safe and meet required standards 
  • assessing the condition and performance of council housing assets 
  • managing property data and asset systems, and improving the quality and accuracy of asset information 
  • managing compliance information with building safety requirements 

Capital Works 

Our work includes: 

  • delivering planned housing improvement works 
  • delivering fire safety and compliance capital programmes 
  • delivering retrofit, energy efficiency works, and decarbonisation and sustainability programmes 
  • keeping residents informed during major works 

Commercial and procurement 

Our work includes: 

  • managing procurement activity and contract support 
  • providing surveying, engineering and quantity surveying support. 
  • supporting cost control and value for money across programmes 

Strategic asset management 

Our work includes: 

  • managing school asset data and investment strategy 
  • managing buy-back and disposal programmes
