Make a claim against the council
If you’ve suffered an injury or property damage, and you believe Camden Council is responsible, you may be able to make a claim against us. This means you could get financial compensation.
Making a claim will not affect any other services you receive from us.
How to make a claim
To make a claim, use our public liability claim form.
Print, complete and sign the form, then send it to us by email at [email protected].
Completing a form does not mean you’ll get compensation. We’ll only pay compensation when there’s evidence we were legally at fault.
We cannot consider a claim if the problem was caused by a contractor – you’ll need to contact them directly.
Portal claims made against the council are handled in-house. All new Portal claims should be made directly using the Claims Portal (Portal ID: G00549). This is managed for us by DWF Claims.
Tenants with contents insurance through us
If you bought contents insurance with Allianz Insurance through us and you want to make a claim using this policy, Rent Support can help you make the claim.
Using your own insurance
You may have insurance that covers the injury or damage. This could be dealt with more quickly than our claims process and without affecting your future premiums.
What happens next
We’ll formally let you know we’ve received your claim within 21 days – this is called an acknowledgement.
We’ll investigate your claim and give you a full response within 3 months.
We’ll try to respond to any queries from you within 14 days.
