There are many opportunities for boys and girls to play football in Camden.  

Camden Active Football Development Courses  

During term time there are football sessions at Talacre Community Sports Centre for children aged 3 to 11. Sessions are run by qualified Football Association (FA) coaches and the sports centre has links to local football clubs.

Camden Young Women and Girls Football Programme

The Camden Young Women and Girls Football Programme offers weekly training sessions for girls aged 7 to 16. New players are welcome. 

The sessions focus on developing player’s fundamental skills and creating the foundation for a lifelong love of football. All sessions take place during term time. 

The costs are: 

  • with a Better Junior Concessionary membership £4.50
  • with a Better Junior Standard membership £6.15  
  • without a Junior Better membership  £7.70

If you have Better Junior membership, you can save money on the cost of the sessions. Find out how to register and become a member.  

Sessions at Cantelowes Gardens Sport Pitches:

  • Camden U11 District Team Training: Monday, 4.30pm to 6pm
  • under 13s and under 14s: Tuesday, 5pm to 6.30pm
  • under 15s and under 16s: Wednesdays, 4.30pm to 6pm

Sessions at Talacre Community Sports Centre:

  • under 9s and under 10s: Wednesday, 4.30pm to 6pm
  • under 11s and under 12s: Wednesday, 4.30pm to 6pm

The sessions must all be booked before attending. You can try your first session for free.

Camden Youth FC 

Camden Youth FC is an accredited grassroots club with teams from under 9s to under 16s that play competitively in local leagues and competitions. 

Camden youth FC compete in 3 leagues: 

  • Regent's Park Youth League
  • Camden and Islington Youth League
  • Arsenal in The Community Girls League

Wildcats

Wildcats is a weekly non-competitive football session for girls aged 7 to 11 years old. Run by FA qualified coaches and volunteers it provides girls with an opportunity to try football for the first time or continuing playing while having a lot of fun and making new friends.

When: Wednesday (term time) 

Where: Talacre Sports Centre, Dalby St, NW5 3AF

Time: 4.30pm to 5.30pm 

Cost: £4.05 per child per session, payable by card at reception on arrival each week. 

How to book a place: Complete the online registration form

Once you have received your confirmation ‘welcome email’, your child can start attending weekly sessions.

Wildcats sessions are term time only and break during school holidays.

The sessions take place outside on the Astro-turf pitch. The girls will need to attend the sessions ready with weather-appropriate sportswear such as:

  • track bottoms or shorts
  • sweater or T-shirt 
  • astro boots or trainers 
  • rainproof jacket 

We have access to a pitch side water fountain, but girls can bring their own water bottles if preferred.

Arsenal in the Community – Positive Kicks 

Arsenal in the Community is running free football sessions on Peckwater Estate’s Football Pitch.

Date: Tuesday and Thursday

Thursday sessions start 7 August and Tuesday sessions start 2 September.

Time: 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Age: School year groups Year 3 to 11

Price: Free

Location: The Hut, Islip St, London NW5 2TU

Arsenal in the Community football sessions

Arsenal coaches hold weekly football sessions for children and young people aged 8 to 18 years old at Fleet Primary School on Fridays. The sessions are free:

  • 8 to 13 years old: Friday, 4.30pm to 6pm
  • 14 to 17 years old: Friday, 6pm to 7.30pm
