It’s your responsibility to dispose of your recycling and rubbish correctly. If caught fly-tipping, you could receive a £1000 on-the-spot fine, or £120 for littering including urinating on the street. This is called a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).
Do the right thing with your waste

Support for community litter picks and the Great British Spring Clean 2026
We work with our partner Veolia to support safe community litter picks.
We are currently supporting residents to take part in this year’s Great British Spring Clean (GBSC). The GBSC is a UK-wide clean-up event, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, and due to run this year from 13 to 29 March 2026.
We are able to provide Camden based residents and groups that have 'pledged to pick' with litter picks and bags for their clean up event.
Request litter picking equipment from Veolia.
Whether litter picking by yourself or in a group, make sure you follow:
Regent's Canal, Regent's Park and Hampstead Heath are not managed or maintained by Camden. We would advise you to contact the appropriate land manager first if you intend to pick litter in one of these spaces.
If you are looking for a location to litter pick, our sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), like raingardens, play a vital role in managing rainwater naturally and create green spaces for wildlife and people. Helping to remove litter, clear blockages, and keeping plants healthy ensures they continue to absorb and filter water effectively.
Become a Camden Veolia Neighbourhood Champion
Join a network of volunteers across the borough, helping to have a direct impact on your community and improving the local environment. There are lots of ways you can be a champion – from sharing how best to recycle and reduce waste; adopting a ‘raingarden’; to supporting events or even leading your own local litter pick or clothing swap.
Register your interest with Veolia.
