Floating Support Service

What it is

The Floating Support Service supports vulnerable adults and families who need extra help to sustain a tenancy and achieve independence.  

Who is eligible 

You can refer yourself to the service if you're: 

  • at risk of losing your home and are a homeowner, a housing association tenant or a private tenant
  • moving into independent accommodation through the Adult or Young Person Pathway
  • moving into settled private rented accommodation through Housing Options and have a support need

If you're a council tenant and need help to manage your tenancy, contact your Neighbourhood Housing Officer

What we can help with

We can help you to: 

  • get rent arrears under control 
  • claim welfare benefits you're entitled to 
  • learn about managing your money 
  • work towards and achieve a healthy lifestyle 
  • register with a doctor, dentist and access other health services 
  • resettle into your new home 
  • sustain your tenancy 

What we cannot help with 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide help with:

  • personal care
  • domestic tasks such as cooking or cleaning
  • counselling or befriending

How to get support 

You can refer yourself by calling 020 7974 5366.

You or a referring agency can also complete the Floating Support referral form (PDF) and email it to [email protected]

What happens next 

Once we receive a referral, we aim to contact you within 5 working days and meet you within 10 working days. 

Hours of service 

Office hours are 9am to 5pm. However, the service is available between 8am and 6pm if this has been arranged in advance. This means that if you are working, we can arrange to see you at a time that suits you.
