Blue Badge parking for disabled people
If you have a disability or a health condition, you may be able to apply for a Blue Badge to help you park closer to your destination.
How Blue Badge works
A Blue Badge will help you to park close to your destination, either as a passenger or driver. The badge is intended for on-street parking only. Off-street car parks, such as those provided by shopping centres, hospitals or supermarkets are covered by separate rules.
A Blue Badge is valid for 3 years, unless your Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) entitlement expires within the 3-year period. In this case, the Blue Badge is valid up until your DWP entitlement expires.

Where to display your permit
You must display your Blue Badge in the front windscreen of the vehicle you’re travelling in, with the front side of the badge on show (displaying the badge number, expiry date and date of issue).
If you do not display your badge correctly, you could get a parking ticket and your vehicle could be removed.
Using your badge across different vehicles
You can use your Blue Badge in any vehicle you’re travelling in. You do not need to register a Blue Badge to any single vehicle.
