Alternative Accommodation (Decant) Policy

This policy explains our approach to providing alternative accommodation (a decant) when a tenant needs to move. Moves may be needed because a home is unsafe to live in, major repairs are needed, or because of redevelopment or estate regeneration.

The policy sets out what support we will provide, including help with planning the move and reasonable moving costs. It explains:

• how we make offers of alternative accommodation
• how we take individual needs into account
• what tenants can expect throughout the process, including what happens if an offer is refused
